Welcome back, gamers!
It’s the second week of our CS:GO Blockchain tournament which is breaking ground in the crypto and gaming spheres simultaneously, and we hope that you’ve been tuning into the action! The first semi-final took place on March 8th between Chain Guardians and Umbrella Network. Since the beginning of the tournament we’ve been interviewing members of each project’s team to find out more about their mission and contribution to the crypto community. These moments have added huge educational value to each livestreams and while also putting faces to these exciting projects, some of whom have recently partnered with us and will be directly contributing to the development of the platform. The first winner of the semi was Umbrella Network — find the recap of the match here. On March 10th we hosted our second semi between Utrust and Aleph.im to see who would be meeting Umbrella Network in the finals. In this match Utrust was dominant and got the victory without much space for doubt. We can’t wait to watch them face off against Umbrella Network next week!
As we approach the end of the tournament, we cannot miss the chance to send a huge thank you again to the teams who participated and to our audience members who keep the energy and engagement high.
This week we also explored more in depth the power and purpose of NFTs in gaming and their appealing value through inherent architecture and functional array use cases. We plan to develop towards the expansion of NFT use within our platform. Read more about it here. Did you also notice something different about this week’s game play too…? It was hard to miss the epic Sushi Chef Reo hanging out on March 9th, a special NFT awarded by Chain Guardians to the MVP of the two semifinals. There will be three unique NFTs awarded in total to the MVPs of the last matches, and we’re looking forward to discovering who will be the best player in the Final match!
In other platform news, we announced an update to our Uniswap Liquidity program. Our strategic partner SpiderDAO has now partnered with us to launch the Liquidity as Utility (LAU) program which will include the exclusive access to SpiderVPN. This crossover program will begin in the backend of this month and all providers reaching the threshold of $500 worth of liquidity (XED and ETH) will receive a free SpiderVPN for the completely optimized online gaming setup. This raises the return value for our initial providers and the value of the program moving forward.
We plan to keep the momentum up and stay tuned on Telegram and Twitter for what’s coming next!
By the way, did any of you also notice the hypebomb planted on Twitter yesterday… be ready to camp for the next five days until the reveal! But currently there’s no better hype than announcing that we have reached 10K $XED holders this week. We are so thankful and motivated by this achievement and can’t wait until we reach the next milestone with you. Get ready for the grand finale next week and until then, happy gaming!
See you next week!
